Pointe d'Esny Beach
Ce que vous ferez
The boat leaves Pointe d'Esny at half past nine and works its way along the south east coast, where the lagoon is wide enough that the islets sit well apart and the water stays clear between them. Lucka and his brothers skipper the boat themselves, so the running order bends to the weather and to what the group actually wants on the day, whether that means longer in the water at the reef or longer ashore on an islet. Lunch is a barbecue, the drinks keep coming, and the boat is back at Pointe d'Esny around four.

Leaving Pointe d'Esny
The skipper meets the group on the beach at half past nine, runs through the plan for the day and takes the boat out onto the lagoon.

Up to the waterfall
Further up the coast the boat reaches the mouth of Grande Riviere Sud Est, where the waterfall drops into the estuary and can only really be seen properly from the water.

Snorkelling on the reef
At the coral, the skipper hands out masks and fins and points out where the fish are holding that day.

Ashore on the islets
Stops on the small islands off Mahebourg give everyone time on the sand and in the shade before lunch.

Barbecue lunch
Lunch is fish, chicken and sausages off the grill with garlic bread and salads, and the drinks stay open all day.

A last swim
A calm stretch of water near Ile aux Aigrettes gives the group one more swim before the run home.

Back at Pointe d'Esny
The boat returns to the beach around four in the afternoon.

À propos de nous

Salty Vibes
Partenaire d'expériences · Maurice
VérifiéSalty Vibes was started in 2024 by Lucka, who runs it with his younger brothers and their parents from the south east coast. Three boats work out of Pointe d'Esny and Mahebourg, a 19ft Northern Boatworks speedboat, a Resicraft speedboat and a custom Pelican fishing boat. The programme covers full island days on the Grand Port lagoon, shorter snorkelling sessions built around the reef, and fishing inside the lagoon or offshore. Skippers speak English, French and Mauritian Creole.
