An angler casting from a boat in the shallow lagoon
Fishing from Pointe d’Esny gives you a choice between a lagoon outing and a trip beyond the reef. Andeor offers both through its partner as private charters for up to six guests. Choose the lagoon for a four-hour introduction built around trolling and casting; choose offshore fishing when the group wants a dedicated open-water outing of four or eight hours. Neither format guarantees a catch.
Four hours fishing in the lagoon
The standard lagoon charter departs at 07:00 or 13:00 and lasts four hours. The skipper moves between fishing areas, trolls a line behind the boat and helps guests cast at suitable spots. No previous fishing experience is required in the listing, and the skipper introduces beginners to the equipment.

FAQ
Can beginners choose lagoon fishing?
Yes. The listing welcomes beginners and describes skipper guidance. Share the group's experience and needs so participation can be confirmed.
Do both offshore options leave at 06:00?
That is the published departure time for both the four- and eight-hour options. Follow the confirmed meeting instructions for your date.
Is snorkelling at the wreck guaranteed?
No. The lagoon listing makes the wreck stop dependent on conditions. It is a possibility within the fishing outing.
Fishing rods, bait, snorkelling gear and drinks are included. There may be a snorkelling stop around the Le Dalbair wreck, but reaching it depends on the conditions. Choose the trip primarily for lagoon fishing rather than treating the wreck as a guaranteed destination.
A separate two-hour sunset session can be requested, with its own price and confirmation. It is not an automatically available shortened version of a standard four-hour booking. If that is the format you want, make the request explicit before arranging the rest of your evening.
If you are also considering the west coast, compare the five- to nine-hour fishing charters from Black River. Keep departure point and time afloat separate from the choice between lagoon and offshore fishing.
Four or eight hours offshore
The offshore charter leaves at 06:00 for both durations. The four-hour outing returns around 10:00, while the eight-hour outing returns around 14:00. These are programme times; use the final meeting instructions for your actual arrival at the departure point.
The included equipment covers fishing tackle, bait and fishfinder guidance, with drinks aboard. The description lists trolling, jigging, popping and big game fishing. Discuss a preferred technique with Andeor in advance, because the skipper selects an approach for the conditions rather than promising every method during one outing.
The longer option gives more time for travelling to fishing grounds and working different areas. It does not double the likelihood of a particular fish or ensure that everyone will land one. Choose it because the whole party wants a longer fishing day, including anyone joining mainly as a companion.
Compare comfort and participation honestly
The lagoon lies inside the reef; the offshore outing travels into more exposed water. That distinction matters for planning, but lagoon fishing is not a promise of flat water. Weather and sea conditions can change either itinerary, and the skipper may move stops or cancel the trip.
Describe the group's boat experience, children's ages and any boarding needs before confirmation. Ask how many people can fish at once and how turns are organised. Capacity for six guests is a passenger limit, not a promise of six simultaneous fishing positions.
For companions who prefer reef exploration to fishing, our private snorkelling comparison includes a departure from Pointe d’Esny. That is a separate excursion, which may suit a different day or part of the group.
Allow for the whole morning or day
Hotel land transfers are excluded from both listings and can be discussed separately. Add the journey to Pointe d’Esny, the requested arrival margin and the return to your accommodation when comparing the durations. An early offshore departure may require a very different hotel pickup from a 13:00 lagoon trip.
Bring personal sun protection and ask about food arrangements if booking the longer outing. Drinks appear in the inclusions, but a meal should not be assumed. Confirm any arrangements for keeping or releasing a catch before departure, especially if that matters to members of the group.
Choose the format before requesting the price
Send Andeor the preferred date, total party size, experience level, accommodation and either lagoon or offshore fishing. Specify four or eight hours for offshore, or identify the separate sunset request. Compare the complete private-charter quote and applicable change terms before booking.
